Tony Fannick--in the beginning

Tony Fannick is interning at ABC Sports One in the Spring 2012 semester. Here are some of his insights from the beginning:

I took special requests from affiliate stations.

I escorted a client into the building.

I took part in my first staff meeting.

I was shown how to take in video from ESPN.

I learned how another department does tasks that I frequently call to request.

I celebrated ABC's 50 Birthday at a company event.

I selected sound bytes from press conferences of professional sports organizations.

I created scripts to describe the bytes and attached the two together.

I uploaded the created packages into a system that ABC affiliates have access to.

I searched, located, encoded video into ABC’s system, and then, sent these video files out to specific affiliates to fulfill their specific requests.

I created my own version of the top ten plays of the week and uploaded the footage and script.

I scowled the internet for breaking stories in the world of professional sports.

I took current video clips and archived the footage and scripts into ABC’s digital media library.
